Christian Curriculum

We believe a strong foundation in faith is essential for a child's overall development. Our curriculum is designed to be both academically uplifting and Christ-centered, integrating biblical teachings into every aspect of a preschooler's day.

Here's a glimpse into how we weave faith into the learning experience:

Daily Bible Stories & Devotions

Each day begins with a circle time where children gather for age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, and prayers. These stories introduce core Christian values like kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and love. Interactive elements and engaging storytelling techniques ensure children stay captivated while learning valuable lessons.

Themed Learning Through a Christian Lens

Weekly themes throughout the year explore creation, biblical figures, Christian holidays, and the importance of prayer. Like, during a creation-themed week, children learn about different animals, sing songs about God's creation, and create artwork depicting their favorite animals.

Character Development

Our curriculum emphasizes the development of a strong Christian character. Through everyday interactions and classroom activities, we encourage values like sharing, taking turns, showing respect for others, and resolving conflict peacefully. These lessons are reinforced through positive reinforcement and discussions about how our actions reflect our faith.

Special Christian Events

Throughout the year, we celebrate special Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter with age-appropriate activities, carols, and even short plays. These celebrations allow children to experience the joy and significance of these holidays in a fun and educational way.

Prayer & Reflection

We incorporate prayer throughout the day, offering thanks before meals and giving children opportunities for quiet reflection. This fosters a sense of gratitude and allows children to develop a personal connection with God.

Here's how we address each developmental area:

Cognitive Development

  • Hands-on Learning: We encourage exploration and discovery through age-appropriate activities like block play, science experiments, and manipulatives. These activities spark curiosity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking.
  • Literacy & Math Skills: Our curriculum introduces basic literacy and math skills through engaging activities like letter recognition, rhyming games, number sorting, and counting exercises.
  • Pre-Writing Skills: We focus on developing the fine motor skills necessary for writing through activities like play dough manipulation, cutting with safety scissors, and tracing exercises.

Social & Emotional Development

  • Positive Interactions: Our small class sizes and nurturing environment allow teachers to provide personalized attention and foster positive social interactions between children. We teach conflict resolution skills, empathy, and the importance of teamwork through play and group activities.

Community Engagement

We believe in fostering a spirit of compassion and service within our students. We actively participate in various community engagement initiatives that allow children to connect with the broader community and put their Christian values into action.

Here are some of our community involvement activities:

Volunteering at Local Organizations

Throughout the year, we organize volunteer opportunities for our students and their families. This involves helping at a local soup kitchen, collecting donations for an animal shelter, or participating in a park cleanup day. These experiences allow children to learn the importance of giving back to the community and serving those in need.

Special Community Events

We participate in special community events that celebrate diversity and promote togetherness. This involves attending a local cultural festival, caroling at a nursing home during the holidays, or hosting a community potluck dinner. These events allow children to interact with people from different backgrounds and build a sense of belonging within the larger community.

Interacting with Local Seniors

We believe it's important for young children to interact with and learn from older generations. We organize pen pal programs with residents of local senior living facilities or invite seniors to our school for special events. These interactions allow children to develop compassion and respect for elders, while seniors can share their wisdom and experiences.

Mission Projects

We encourage our students to participate in age-appropriate mission projects throughout the year. This involves collecting food items for a local food pantry, creating care packages for hospitalized children, or raising funds for a specific charity. These projects allow children to develop a heart for service and understand the impact they can have on the world around them.
